Sheryl Anderson from JUMP! Swim Schools Wanneroo Nominated for Franchise Woman of the Year #beboldforchange

Sheryl Anderson, founder of JUMP! Swim Schools Wanneroo was nominated today for Franchise Woman of the Year Western Australia. Ms Andersen is a shining example of a woman who is “bold for change” actively forging a more inclusive, better working world this International Women’s Day.

Her success in business and service to the City of Wanneroo is providing a positive influence on the growth of women across the rapidly-expanding international franchise network JUMP! Swim Schools. Sheryl Anderson joins a standout field of female entrepreneurs to compete for the ultimate prize of being named 2017 Australian Franchise Woman of the Year. Her nomination celebrates her ability to marry the demanding and often conflicting roles of career woman, wife and mother of four children.

Sheryl Anderson was bold enough to lead JUMP! Swim Schools into the West Australian market as its first franchisee in October 2015. She opened JUMP! Swim Schools Wanneroo with just 100 kids, and in just 18 months has built this business into a thriving swim school with over 350 little swimmers and employing eight teachers.  Her husband Dave works alongside her and together they are raising a family of six with four children aged 4 to 17 years of age: Kaitlyn, Rachel, Gemma, Lachlan.

“I hope that I can inspire other women through my actions, and give them the courage to pursue their business ambitions while raising their families. To be bold and believe in yourself, and accept temporary sacrifice for long-term gain that will inspire your children,” said Sheryl.

Sheryl Anderson now employs eight female swimming instructors.  Some are university students balancing work with study, others are young mums juggling the demands of young children with work and some are women juggling a few different jobs.

“JUMP! Swim Schools is different to any swim facility that WA has ever seen and I am so privileged to introduce the children of Western Australia to a purpose-built optimal swimming learning environment free of distraction.

“We offer a unique learn to swim journey and JUMP!’s swim teachers are expert in teaching babies from three months of age. This is also new for Western Australia as our local swim schools only provided classes for babies from 6 months.

Sheryl has been active with SIDS and Kids WA over the 16 years since her baby Hayley passed away in 2001. She has been an active board member, been a peer supporter on the support line for bereaved families and still co-ordinates the Red Nose Day store at Ocean Keys Shopping Centre every year on Red Nose Day.

She is always giving back to City of Wanneroo community — be it coaching one of her daughter’s netball teams at Beaumaris Netball Club, teaching Sunday School at her local Anglican Church in Quinns Rocks or supervising as a parent helper at Gumblossom Girl Guides.
