JUMP! Swim Schools Berwick

Give your child a kickstart — swimming lessons Berwick

We are a boutique learn to swim facility for babies aged from 3 months up to pre-squad.

JUMP! Berwick is the way learn to swim should be for your child — small intimate classes free of distractions, expert qualified swimming teachers, and a heated purpose-built indoor pool. Every child feels safe and at home as we join them on their swimming journey.

JUMP! Berwick has a real community feel where we can discuss your child’s progress every swimming lesson and greet every child by name.  You will find JUMP! Berwick is a personal facility with plenty of privacy, away from the rush of the bigger council facilities. It opened early 2016 just off Clyde Rd in the industrial complex behind Monash University and Nossal High School.

JUMP! Swim Schools Berwick also caters to families living in Beaconsfield and Guys Hill.

Submerging your baby underwater for the first time is an exciting milestone. Some parents may feel a little bit nervous, particularly if its your first baby or if you have had limited exposure to the water yourself. Here are some tips to ensure your babys first underwater experience is a positive one. 1. Make sure baby is happy and confident with water on their face during cup conditioning. 2. Observe that your baby is holding their breath in anticipation of your trigger words eg. Closing their eyes. 3. Ensure you are happy and relaxed interacting with your baby in the water. 4. Place baby in a horizontal position, make eye contact and smile. When you submerge your baby you want the water flow horizontally over the body. Vertical submersion can easily force water up the nose and should be introduced later. 5. Use your trigger words and a kinaesthetic lifting trigger before gently guiding baby under water. The double trigger will give your baby a chance to catch their breath. 6. Celebrate your babys success!
