JUMP! Swim Schools Port Kennedy

Give your child a kickstart — swimming lessons Port Kennedy

We are a boutique learn to swim facility for babies aged from 3 months up to pre-squad.

JUMP! Port Kennedy is the way learn to swim should be for your child — small intimate classes free of distractions, expert qualified swimming teachers, and a heated purpose-built indoor pool. Every child feels safe and at home as we join them on their swimming journey.

JUMP! Port Kennedy has a real community feel where we can discuss your child’s progress every swimming lesson and greet every child by name.  You will find JUMP! Port Kennedy is a personal facility with plenty of privacy, away from the rush of the bigger council facilities. It opened mid 2016 in the brand new industrial warehouse precinct near Harvey Norman and Chipmunks Playland and Cafe.

JUMP! Swim Schools Port Kennedy also caters to families living in Warnbro, Secret Harbour, Golden Bay, Waikiki and Baldivis.

Why JUMP! is the best choice for your child

  • Small classes without distractions means that our swimming teachers can cater to your child’s individual needs.
  • Our qualified learn to swim teachers are expert in teaching babies from three months of age.
  • Our indoor pool is heated to 32-33 degrees to ensure comfort for all ages.
  • We are on top of our game with cleanliness and hygiene — our pools are serviced every day.
The first step in teaching your baby to swim is breath control. At Jump! we use the cue Name, Ready, Go. When babies hear this prompt they know that water is coming and to hold their breath.

Please remember to wear an approved swim pant when bringing your little one to lessons.

Fact#1. Disposable swim nappies do not hold urine.

Fact#2. Absorbent products such as liners, regular nappies, swell when liquid touches them, so not suitable for swimming.

Fact#3. Selecting the incorrect size may result in the leg or waist allowing faeces to escape.

A joint study between Griffith University, Kids Alive Swim Program and Swim Australia found out that “Children who learn how to swim at a young age are reaching many developmental milestones earlier than the norm.”

“As well as achieving physical milestones faster, children also scored significantly better in visual-motor skills such as cutting paper, colouring in and drawing lines and shapes, and many mathematically-related tasks. Their oral expression was also better as well as in the general areas of literacy and numeracy.”

Wow thanks for the info. Another great reason to start swimming early.
