JUMP! Swim School franchises will continue to expand across the country next year, growing by an average of two new sites per month.

Nine new swim schools will open by June 2023 including now open sites at Doncaster East and soon to open sites in Melton South and Mickleham in Victoria, along with Box Hill and Glenmore Park in New South Wales.

JUMP! Swim School CEO Mark Collins said record enrolments after Covid with a backlog of students who were unable to swim through lockdowns was continuing to fuel growth.

“Covid and lockdowns really changed things for our industry and we’re still playing catch-up,” said Mark.

“We’ve also seen population increasing significantly in some geographical areas and a lack of infrastructure to cope with the needs of new families, so there are so many opportunities out there.”

More than 50% of the new sites opening are parents themselves, a trend that continues to grow.

“Frustrated parents are continuing to open sites after seeing their own children being stuck on waitlists. It’s an amazing example of businesses being born out of personal experience and need. We’ve never seen anything like it before.

“We’re also seeing people shift careers, tired of overly demanding workloads and looking to improve work-life balance and find more flexibility.”

There are also a growing number of multi-site owners in the network, said Mark.

“Franchisees see that the model works and get that confidence and income stream from the first site and they’re eager to look at a second.

“For example, the owners of our latest site to open at Lilydale already own a JUMP! Swim School at South Morang and the new site coming at Melton South will be owned by a father of two who runs a Genesis gym franchise in the same area.”
