Hope From JUMP! Campbelltown Named Best Swim Teacher In NSW
Campbelltown resident and JUMP! Swim Schools swim teacher Hope Dawson won first place for the Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics award at the 2018 NSW AUSTSWIM Awards of Excellence recently.
These AUSTSWIM State Awards acknowledged individuals who have made a significant contribution to aquatic education in Australia.
Hope was thrilled to pick up the award for teaching excellence, fighting off stiff competition from across the state. As an independent business, the award is especially important as it recognises Hope’s commitment to teaching vital water skills to children and babies in a safe and small class environment.
This is also a huge accolade for JUMP! Swim Schools Campbelltown who pride themselves on the quality of their teaching and the specialised care that each child receives.
Following on from her big award win, Hope has been sharing her story about why she decided to become a swim teacher. Hope was inspired to teach swimming after watching her 8-year-old daughter save a little girl who had fallen into a swimming pool. Read the full story here in The Daily Telegraph.
“I’m passionate about getting in there and making sure children can swim.
“When some kids come in they are scared at first but to watch them go through the learning stages and be able to swim a full length of the pool is very rewarding.’’
Hope is excited to go to Queensland early next year for the national awards.
About the awards:
Each year, AUSTSWIM provides an opportunity to identify and honour individual AUSTSWIM Teachers™, Presenters and Recognised Swim Centres from across the country for their respective contributions to aquatic education and water safety.
The Awards operate at two levels – state/territory and national. State and territory selection committees select finalists for each award category, with one of these finalists becoming the state/territory award recipient. State/territory award recipients then become nominees for the National AUSTSWIM Aquatic Industry Awards.
