SA Franchise Woman of the Year finalist announcement!
Sharyn Loller opened JUMP! Hackham in January 2016, with just 150 students. In the space of year, she has developed her business into a thriving swim school with over 500 little swimmers.
JUMP!’s franchising model gave Sharyn the opportunity to join her love for swimming, including over two decades of aquatic education experience, with her strong customer service background, business acumen and a degree in Sport and Recreation Management. She will be opening her second JUMP! Swim School franchise in late 2017, with a third highly likely in 2018.
Enrolments reach 540 little swimmers in the first year of trading
We asked Sharyn what her greatest business achievements were:
“I attribute our growth to word of mouth from happy customers, effective communication, community engagement and digital marketing.
“After opening with 150 students, our numbers continued to grow over the winter months resulting in 540 students after the first year of operating. With peak enrolments reaching 566 in February, 2017, almost our capacity, we still continue to welcome up to 10 new families each week.
“I work hard to get customers through our doors and to run my business efficiently – but the customers come back because of the great experience they have both in the swimming lesson and from the business as a whole.
“When recruiting swimming teachers and front of house staff I look for people with the right personality and potential to develop within the business. I personally train our teachers to deliver the Jump! program and I am very proud of the consistently positive feedback received for each and every one of them.
“I have been able to offer employment to some 15 people over the past 12 months and our current team of 8 swimming teachers are perhaps the best teachers in the state.”
